Ride the WavesReflections by Steve L.

A Wave

April 29, 2026

“We compared the spiritual experience promised in the 12 Steps to a pot of drip coffee; it’s slow, one drip at a time, but after a while, we have a full rich pot of French Roast to enjoy and share with others!”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Excerpt From Falling Upward, Revised and Updated

Richard Rohr & Brené Brown

“One Great Mystery is buried deep within and forever beckons us forward toward its full realization. Some would call this a homing device; others, the soul or the indwelling Holy Spirit and some might call it nostalgia or dreamtime.\n\nAll I know is that it will not be ignored. It calls us both backward and forward, to our foundation and our future, at the same time. It also feels like grace from within us and, at the same time, beyond us.\n\nThe soul lives in such eternally deep time. Wouldn't it make sense that God would plant in us a desire for what God already wants to give us? I am sure of it.”

We Agnostics

Alcoholics Anonymous

“Actually, we were fooling ourselves, for deep down in every man, woman, and child, is the fundamental idea of God. It may be obscured by calamity, by pomp, by worship of other things, but in some form or other it is there. For faith in a Power greater than ourselves, and miraculous demonstrations of that power in human lives, are facts as old as man himself.\n\nSometimes we had to search fearlessly, but He was there. He was as much a fact as we were. We found the Great Reality deep down within us. In the last analysis it is only there that He may be found. It was so with us.”

Meditation for the Day / Prayer for the Day

Hazelden Foundation

“The rule of God's kingdom is perfect order, perfect harmony, perfect supply, perfect love, perfect honesty, perfect obedience. There is no discord in God's kingdom, only some things still unconquered in God's children. The difficulties of life are caused by disharmony in the individual man or woman. People lack power because they lack harmony with God and with each other. They think that God fails because power is not manifested in their lives. God does not fail. People fail because they are out of harmony with Him.\n\nI pray that I may be in harmony with God and with other people. I pray that this harmony will result in strength and success.”
