A Wave

April 26, 2026

“how to keep our sails out of other people’s wind!”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery

Hazelden Foundation

“Everything is in a constant state of change. It's easy to see this in others & things around us, yet we are also changing! By continuing to work the 12 Steps, taking inventory and maintaining contact with others & our Higher Power, we can enjoy change as an opportunity for renewal. Today, help me to be open to continued change; to continue growing and to continue to become who I want to be in God.”

Soul and the Natural World

Richard Rohr

“In our frantic search of radical belonging, we’re trying to say to ourselves & others, “I belong here. I matter.” Of course, that’s true! But how can we feel connected? We are naturally healed when we take time to know things center to center, subject to subject, and soul to soul. Today, help me to see & enjoy all things as holy; to experience the universe through communion with God, rather than a random collection of objects.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

“Meditation for the Day Times of withdrawal for renewed strength are always necessary. Wait for the faintest tremor of fear and stop all work, everything, and rest before God until you are strong again. This does not mean that you are to do all things and then rely on God to find strength. It means that you are to do the things you believe God wants you to do and only then can you rely on His supply of power. Prayer for the Day I pray that God's spirit may be my master always. I pray that I may learn how to rest and listen, as well as how to work.”
