How To Deal With Difficult People
Marc Lesser
“By labeling certain people as ‘difficult,’ we’re making a judgment; it's a subtle form of taking on the role of a victim. It echoes our tendency to not want to be held accountable for our own role in difficult relationships. This particular pattern, of labeling difficult behavior of others as a kind of ‘character flaw,’ is so pervasive that it actually has a name: attribution error. Once we label them a ‘difficult person’ all their actions fit under that umbrella. Today, I ask for Your grace to see everyone’s inner beauty; to treat everyone with patience, tolerance & Love, as a perfect child of God.”
