“So where the hell did I get the idea that I was supposed to be large and in charge?”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Days of Healing, Days of Joy: Daily Meditations

Hazelden Foundation

"You have made us, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You." ~ St. Augustine “Procrastination is dangerous if we're serious about recovery. In recovery, we are asked to believe in a Power greater than ourselves. Augustine became a Saint because he finally did bend his will to that of a Higher Power. Today, I pray for the courage to trust in my Higher Power; to be aware that lost time is lost forever.”

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“The Taoist religion is one of the simplest paths to God. It advises, ‘Just be what you are. You do not need to change yourself to be divine. You are created of Spirit; to be powerful and happy, simply let Divine nature take its course.’ Today, help me to remember that I am part of The Divine. Return my birthright of peace to me. I am healed as I open to You, to express my true self.”

Meditations for the Day

“Always seek to set aside the valuations of the world that seem wrong and try to judge only by those valuations that seem right to you. Do not seek the praise and notice of the world. Be one of those who, though sometimes scoffed at, have a serenity and peace of mind that the scoffers never know. Be one of that band who feel the Devine Principal in the universe, though He be often rejected because He cannot be seen. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may not heed too much the judgment of the world. I pray that I may test things by what seems right to me.”
