“If you’re feeling dazed & confused, please don’t give up.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Living into Transformation

Richard Rohr

We put much effort into building our identities and plans. On the contrary, our encounters with God begin not in our striving, but in our willingness to let go of our false selves. Transformation, then, is not something we achieve. It is something that happens to us, as we witness ourselves with honesty in prayer. Our tears hold the key to an even deeper transformation; a continued surrender to a Divine Love, spacious enough to hold our anger, our fears and our sadness. Today, help me continue to release my fears and my efforts to manage and control; to allow You to open a channel for limitless inner freedom.

Touchstones Meditations

In recovery, we are learning to respect ourselves and our place in the universe. A sense of humility begins as we look at ourselves in perspective, knowing we are connected to the whole world. Accepting how small and powerless we are, we open to a power and responsibility we each have. Along with this spiritual feeling comes a sense of awe for the world we live in, and a feeling of gratitude for the life we've been given. Today, I can give thanks for my self-respect and gratefulness for being part of life.

Meditation for the Day

As you look back over your life, it is not too difficult to believe that what you went through was for a purpose, to prepare you for some valuable work in life. Everything in your life may well have been planned by God to make you of some use in the world. Each person's life is like the pattern of a mosaic. Each thing that happened to you is like one tiny stone in the mosaic. Each tiny stone fits into the perfected pattern of the mosaic of your life, which has been designed by God. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may not need to see the whole design of my life. I pray that I may trust the Designer.
