A Wave

“I’ve discovered it’s all in God’s perfect timing.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Sacramental Reality

Richard Rohr Daily Meditations

“Ever since God created the world, God’s everlasting power and deity is there for the mind to see in all the things that God has created. For a true contemplative, a gratuitously falling leaf will awaken awe and wonder. Today, God, open my eyes and heart to embrace the vastness and beauty of nature, and to all of Your wonder in the world.”

The Art of Timing: The Perils of Hurrying and the Pleasures of Presence

Alan Watts

“As we live our busy lives we might say, ‘How full and rich my life is!’ But are we stopping long enough to look, to take in experiences, digest them, and grow from them? Or is our attention always focused upon the next event? Are we running from one thing to another, never truly being present in the current moment? We simply need to get quiet; to slow down and look at what is in the here & now. Although we’re unable to stop the hectic pace of the world, we can slow ourselves down to notice and reflect upon each experience. Today, I ask God to slow me down; to give me time to look for true meaning and value in each experience.”

Stepping Into the Sunlight

Daily Reflections

“Sometimes I think I don’t have time for prayer and meditation. Yet, I always found time to drink and practice my other addictions! Today, I simply ask God to help me take time to practice prayer and meditation. I can read a page from our Fellowship’s books, and say ‘Thank You, God,’ when I go to bed. And as prayer becomes a habit, I can increase the time spent on it. If I find I have trouble praying, I can repeat the Lord’s Prayer, because it really covers everything. I can think of what I am grateful for, do some writing, and say a word of thanks. As my practice of prayer continues, I find I don’t need words, for God can, and does, hear my thoughts through silence.”
