A Wave

“Why, yes, dammit, I had fallen off the back of the ship of Faith, into the raging waters.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Touchstones Meditations

Hazelden

“Facing the pains, guilts & grief's of our addictions might lead us to think recovery is only serious business. Not so! Recovery liberates us from our heaviness by facing it. We are not meant to stay stuck; our Creator has concocted a world of many pleasures and delights. We’re being guided to enjoy life. As our relationship with God progresses, we experience new freedoms; we learn to relax, let go, and play, to embrace a new life we never dreamed possible. Today, I give thanks to God for a sense of delight and wonder in the world. I am grateful for the child who still lives in me.”

Daily Meditations

Richard Rohr, O.F.M.

"True life comes only through many, many journeys of loss and regeneration wherein we gradually learn who God is for us in a very experiential way. Letting go is the nature of all true spirituality and transformation; it is the mysterious key to opening the door to New Life."

Meditation for the Day

Twenty Four Hours a Day

“We cannot find true happiness by looking for it. Seeking pleasure does not bring happiness in the long run, only disillusionment. Do not seek to have this fullness of joy by seeking pleasure. It cannot be done that way. Our happiness is a by-product of living the right kind of life; a result of living in all respects the way you believe God wants you to live. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may not always seek pleasure as a goal. I pray that I may be content with the happiness that comes when I do the right thing.”
