A Wave

“My sober life has been a 42 year series of letting go to new Life.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Days of Healing, Days of Joy: Daily Meditations

Hazelden Foundation

“Self-image is not who we really are, but a combination of who we wish we were, who we're afraid we are, and who we imagine other people think we are. Thus, we act out in detail the role we've assigned ourselves in this world. In recovery, we’re given a second chance to redefine who we really are. Today, I pray for the courage to challenge my tendency to discount myself. May all of my strong points be made very clear, that I may project a new & confident self-image reflecting Your grace, Your forgiveness, and Your love.”

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“As children of a loving God, we have been given the power to create unforeseen circumstances. We were not born to be a statistic; we were born to be fully alive & present. Choose a new destiny; live by new rules, not the worlds. Today, help me to live by the laws of love and create a new world and future.”

Leading Us Somewhere New

Richard Rohr

“In recovery, we’re invited into a radical transformation of consciousness. It involves new behavior, new language, and new practices that are sincere. Dying is a part of a greater mystery; in recovery, we are a part of that mystery. Today, God, I trust You that in surrendering my addiction, I will be given new life.”

Twenty Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

“Keep yourself like an empty vessel for God to fill. Keep pouring out yourself to help others so that God can keep filling you up with His spirit. The more you give, the more you will have for yourself. God will see that you are kept filled as long as you are giving to others. But if you selfishly try to keep all for yourself, you are soon blocked off from God, your source of supply, and you will become stagnant. To be clear, a lake must have an inflow and an outflow. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may keep pouring out what I receive. I pray that I may keep the stream clear and flowing.”
