A Wave

“Who the hell am I now that I’m drinking coffee out of Styrofoam cups with strange people, in rooms where the curtains don’t even match?”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“Who am I? I am not my name, which could change. I am not a husband or wife only; my identity goes far beyond my relationship. I am not my bank account, which rises and falls. I am not my house, from which I come and go. I am not my job, which is temporary. I am not my emotions, which wax and wane. I am not my religion, which is a mutable belief system. I am not my body; some people have body parts removed, and they are still a whole person. I am not even my thoughts, which vacillate and turn in all directions! If I am not any of these things that I commonly identify with, who am I? I am a spiritual being; any other identity detracts from the majesty of my true essence. Deep within each of us is Spirit; to share love and to fully live. Thank you God for showing and teaching me who I truly am; to let go of All false beliefs about myself, that the truest essence of my being may shine in all its splendor.”

Meditation for the Day

Twenty Four Hours a Day

“We can never become entirely unselfish. But we can come to realize that we are not at the center of the universe; that everything does not revolve around us, that I am only one cell in a vast network of human cells. Help me make the effort to conquer the self-life; to seek daily to obtain more and more of this self-conquest. Prayer for the Day Today, help me continue to turn over my selfish desires, my self-centeredness and myself; to strive to overcome my selfishness; that I may achieve the right perspective of my true position in the world.”
