A Wave

October 23, 2025

“Everyone is free to be who they are, including me.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Today’s Gift

Hazelden Foundation

“The universe is made up of stories, not atoms.” ~Muriel Ruheyser “There was once a storyteller who told many people about her life. They listened and heard their own stories in hers. Hearing her story, they didn't feel so lonely anymore. Hearing about someone else who had lost things, people she loved, who had felt lonely and scared, allowed them to feel less crazy. Some decided to become storytellers themselves. As they recounted their own stories, they found that letting out their secrets freed them to feel good about who they were, and who they had always wanted to be.” As I share my story and secrets, a path to freedom opens for others and myself.”

The Daily Reader for Contemplative Living

Thomas Keating

“God has to lead us into a place that involves a complete reversal of our prepackaged values, a complete undoing of all our carefully laid plans, and a lot of letting go of our preconceived ideas. This letting go into the unknown, this submitting to the unloading process, is an essential step into the mystery of our own unconscious.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

Meditation for the Day “Though it may seem a paradox, we must believe in spiritual forces. If we are going to truly live, we must believe in this unseen force. In the last analysis, the universe consists more of thought or mathematical formulas than it does of matter. Between one human being and another, only spiritual forces will suffice to keep them in harmony. We actually see their results, although we cannot see them! A changed life - a new personality - results from the power of unseen spiritual forces working in us and through us. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may believe in the Unseen. I pray that I may be convinced by the results of the Unseen, which I do see.”
