A Wave

“Today, I am no longer the king of pain.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Stepping Stones: More Daily Meditations for Men

“We often say that one of our main needs in life is security. We want to be able to predict and control how things will play out. The problem with this view is that even when we gain more control, it doesn't generally make us feel deeply secure. A much wiser goal is to walk the road of life, accepting that it is always insecure. Happiness and a sense of security isn't found by grasping for more. In recovery, we share with others our struggles. We build trust in our Higher Power. We make peace with our insecurities; we take on challenges that deliver a deeper meaning beyond ourselves. Today, help me share and to accept my insecurities; to walk in Faith this journey called life, to provide true meaning and value for a higher purpose.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Thought for the Day "It is very difficult to admit that we are different from normal drinkers. But in recovery, we are forced to admit that our lives are disturbed. We must admit that, as far as drinking is concerned, we need help. We must be willing to accept the bitter fact that we cannot drink like normal people. And we must make, as gracefully as possible, surrender to the inevitable fact that we must stop drinking. Meditation for the Day There seems to be a right way to live and a wrong way. ‘Show us the way, O Lord, and let us walk in Thy paths.’ When you live the right way, things seem to work out well for you. When you live the wrong way, things seem to work out badly for you. You seem to take out of life what you put into it. If you disobey the laws of nature, the chances are that you will be unhealthy. If you disobey the spiritual and moral laws, the chances are that you will be unhappy. By following the laws of nature and the spiritual laws of honesty, purity, unselfishness, and love, you can be reasonably healthy and happy. Prayer for the Day God, help me to follow a path that leads to a better life; to freedom & purpose.”
