A Wave

“Not to be offensive, but as a Jew, I like to say AA was my Jesus.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Today’s Gift

Hazelden Foundation

The gift of recovery guarantees God's love and forgiveness. “It may seem impossible to change our perceptions about the things that threaten us. This is especially true when our fear is rooted in emotional or physical assaults from our past. With God's help, we can learn forgiveness. Each day is filled with opportunities; the forgiving heart reaps great rewards. Today, God help me let go of the past; to choose loving and forgiving actions.”

A Choice for Love

Richard Rohr

“To put it succinctly, God is an action more than a substance. We’re called to learn to recognize when we’re not living in love. Love, like forgiveness, is a decision, in our minds and in our hearts. And we’d better make it early in the day, because once we’re a few hours into low-level resentment, anger, or disappointment, it’s too late. When we’re not choosing love, we’ll use any excuse to be unhappy. Our state of unhappiness just needs an object—as do happiness and love. This is surely why a morning prayer or practice is so important—to allow us to choose to love each and every day.”

Meditation for the Day

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

“Confidence means to have faith in something. We could not live without confidence. When you have confidence in God's grace, you can face whatever comes. When you have confidence in God's love, you can be serene and at peace. You can rest in the faith that God will take care of you. Try to rest in God's presence until His life power flows through you. Be still, and in that stillness, the still, small Voice will come. It speaks in quietness to the human mind that is attuned to its influence. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may find strength today in quietness. I pray that I may be content today that God will take care of me.”
