A Wave

September 12, 2025

“Our old higher power and way of living has completely failed; you’re not a failure; your way of living failed.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Thought for the Day

the Authors of Keep it Simple

Thought for the Day “Our life of addiction had a price, and we paid it. Our addiction was our higher power. We surrendered our will & our lives to it. It asked for our dignity, and we gave it up. It asked for our relationships, and we gave them up. It asked for our self-respect; we gave that up. Whatever our addiction asked of us, we did. Recovery also asks us to ante up. We will need to surrender our wills and lives over to a new Higher Power. We go to the meetings, even when we don't want to. We call our sponsors, and work the steps. We work and try to help those who still suffer. We make lists of wrongs done; we make amends to those we have harmed, including ourselves. Yes, every passage in life has its price, even recovery. Prayer for the Day Higher Power, I pray for willingness to trust my path in recovery; to show up whenever and wherever my recovery leads me. Help me trust Your guidance, that my Faith in You and that my recovery won’t turn on me like my addictions did.”

The Power of Love

Richard Rohr

“ In most of the world’s religions, we seek a relationship with God, Christians choose Jesus; Jews choose Adonai; Muslims choose Allah; Hindus worship Buddha. Yet today, social media bombards us with images of success. Our worship shifts to athletes, politicians, spiritual leaders, and celebrities. There is no mention of God. God’s power is not domination, threat, or coercion. God is waiting for us with everlasting love. He knows how fragile we are. Divine Power is a brightening flame in our hearts and minds. In recovery, we slowly come to believe, and learn to rely on the fact that there is a New Source of Power; One that has all the power we need, both within us and between us.”

Meditation for the Day

Meditation for the Day "The eye of the soul is the will. If your will is to do the will of God, to serve Him with your life, to serve Him by helping others, then truly shall your whole being be full of light. Ask to seek in all things the spiritual values of honesty & purity, unselfishness & love; to earnestly desire spiritual growth. Your life will emerge from the darkness of futility, into the bright light of victory over your troubles. Prayer for the Day I pray that my heart be open; that my eyes may focus on the Divine. I pray that my life may be lived in the Light of new hope, new strength, and new Love.”
