A Wave

July 26, 2025

“Living clean and sober has continued to teach me that it is not enough to try and live on my own power; that alcohol & drugs had stopped working, and I needed New Power..”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery

“We are not alone - even if we are temporarily without intimate companionship. We are part of a Spirit that extends beyond our experience and comprehension. Who of us has not heard someone express shame, defeat, challenges, and/or gratitude while struggling with living life clean and sober and not felt moved? By accepting our human condition, and in sharing with others, we receive affirmation of a Loving Force guiding our destiny. It is there we find comfort and inspiration; an alternative to our old life fueled and deadened by alcohol and drugs. Just for today, when I feel lonely, afraid, or anxious, I can say a prayer, pick up a book or a phone, and make a Spiritual connection instead of the alternative.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day "Hallowed be Thy Name." What does that really mean? The words mean praise to God for His Spirit in the world, making us better. We can be especially grateful for God's Spirit, which gives us the strength to overcome all challenges in our lives. His Spirit is all powerful! It can help us to live in a new confidence, to an abundant life. So we praise and thank Him for His Spirit in our lives and in the lives of others. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may be grateful for God's Spirit in me. I pray that I may try to live in accordance with it.”
