When I first heard the term “the Four Absolutes” I thought, “come on, who can accomplish that?” Then, as I started to work the steps in recovery, and discovered some false beliefs and blockages to true purpose & happiness, it hit me. Alcohol & drugs were not my problem; they had been my solution for my lack of power, uncertainties, and missing parts in my life. They had served their purpose; letting go delivered me into the rooms of recovery.
Emotions, circumstances, and people are all meant to awaken a spiritual sense of wonder and gratitude. There is nothing to figure out. Waking up back in Phoenix, reflecting on a life well lived by my friend Josh, our primary purpose is to be of service as best we can. Josh certainly accomplished that goal, and my love and prayers go out to his wife, son and family as they heal from the tragedy and to embrace the Love. Just for today, help me trust the journey where the streets have no name.
