A Wave

March 17, 2025

“Getting sober, I realized I hadn’t gotten rid of the trash; I had collected lots of it along the way!”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“The amount of abusive self-talk we put up with is incredible. We must retrain our mind to spotlight what is working rather than what is not. The rational mind is programmed to search for errors and imperfections. But the nature of the heart is to find what is lovable and expand on that. The habit of fault-finding is learned and, as such, we can re-educate our vision to find perfection. In prayer or meditation, ask that you become aware of patterns of thought with which you hurt yourself: “Poor me,” “Never enough, ” & “Why can’t I? ” are trains of thought that will take you over a cliff if you ride them. Instead of being a fault-finder, become a perfection-finder; look for all of the perfection, and quickly the world you live in will reflect your new vision! Today, God, show me how to think in harmony with Your will; to live & thrive in the world You created.”

“Today, I ask You, God to help me love and forgive others as You have loved and forgiven me. I will write down the list of all who have hurt me, and share with another so that my heart will open to Your unconditional Love.”

Richard Rohr Daily Meditations

Richard Rohr

“The idea of an infinite God being caught up in a naive reward/punishment worldview—must be undone by radical Grace; the unconditional love of God, or nothing will ever change. The loving people I’ve met across the world seem to know that if it’s love at all, it has to be love for everybody. As soon as we begin to parcel it out, we’re not in the great field of love. Today, God, I open up, to embrace and accept Your love, so in turn I may show love to others.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day Withdraw into the calm of communion with God. Rest in that calm and peace. When the soul finds its home of rest in God, then it is that real life begins. Only when you are calm and serene can you do good work. Emotional upsets make you useless. The eternal life is calmness and when you enter into that, then you live as an eternal being. Calmness is based on complete trust in God. Nothing in this world can separate you from the love of God. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may wear the world like a loose garment. I pray that I may keep serene at the center of my being.
