A Wave

March 13, 2025

“I got back in the car, a distracted, spacey & imperfect man, and thanked God, once again, for looking after me.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Woman's Spirit: More Meditations for Women

Karen Casey

“Today, we have the freedom to pray in any way that satisfies us. We can talk with God whenever and however it suits us. We will be heard, always; we will be answered when the time is right. Learning patience and reliance on our Higher Power is such an empowering opportunity! Communication with God gives us a respite from our incessant fretting over everyday concerns. Prayer is not mysterious unless we make it so. Prayer can be anything - a thought, a request, a conversation, a plea, a dream. Our honesty is all that's needed. Today, as I give gratitude for my life in recovery, I'll be free of anxiety. I will include God before every action I take.”

Radical Grace, Already Forgiven

Richard Rohr

”God’s grace and mercy throws the whole reward and punishment system out the window. Forgiveness can sting when we don’t feel ‘worthy’ of it. What if we’ve already been forgiven for the ways we’ve hurt the people we love? What if we’ve already been forgiven for not being perfect parents, partners, sons or daughters? Maybe forgiving ourselves is a daily option? Today God, I give thanks for Your forgiveness; that as I embrace and accept Your Love, I am free to forgive and love others.”

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“A Course in Miracles teaches that there are only two emotions, love & fear; at any moment we are experiencing one or the other. The surest antidote to pain, self-pity, loneliness, or depression is to reach out to give love or help someone. Should you feel separate, make a list of people to whom you could give love through a phone call, visit, or other act of kindness. Simply making this list will lift us immeasurably; acting on it will change our life. Love heals as we give it. Today, I will reach out beyond my separateness and discover that my healing is joined with service.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

“Gently breathe in God's spirit, that spirit which, if not barred out by selfishness, will enable you to do good works. This means rather that God will be enabled to do good works through you. You can become a channel for God's spirit to flow through you and into the lives of others. The works that you can do will only be limited by your spiritual development. Let your spirit be in harmony with God's spirit and there is no limit to what you can do in the realm of human relationships. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may become a channel for God's spirit. I pray that God's spirit may flow through me into the lives of others.”
