A Wave

February 18, 2025

“Yes, even though I suffer from terminal uniqueness, just like you, I am alcoholic.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Daily Meditations

Richard Rohr

“We are called to a larger cosmic frame that is inclusive, universal, affirming, and accepting; to see everything as part of the whole in all their majestic splendor and their messy complexity. Transcendence is not a denial or detachment from my story or our story. It is an arduous commitment to truth-telling; to fully seeing; to empathetic listening that requires the work of living and be-ing in the world; of deep, intimate knowing; of moving beyond our theories and maps into relationship building.”

Glad Day Daily Meditations

Hazelden

“We have achieved mastery and success in some areas of our lives but are still beginners in others. It is never too late for us to acquire new learning, as long as we have the humility and courage to be beginners again. Whether we want to learn a language, maintain healthy sobriety, or have satisfying relationships with our peers, the same combination of openness, consistent action, and surrender will bring good results. Today, it's safe for me to be a beginner.”

Grapevine Daily Quote February 18

Anonymous

“Often in sobriety, I’ve prayed when I needed to meditate. I’ve yammered at God so much that God can’t get a word in edgewise. (What I practice with people, I cannot help but practice with God.) To me, meditation is simply being quiet and listening for a change. It is buttoning up my lip – and my mind that yaps even when my mouth is shut.” From: “Trusting the Silence”, Beginner’s Book,

Meditation for the Day

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

“I will link up my frail nature with the limitless Divine Power. I will link my life with the Divine Force for Good in the world. It is not the passionate appeal that gains the Divine attention as much as the quiet placing of the difficulty and worry in the Divine Hands. So I will trust God like a child who places its tangled skein of wool in the hands of a loving mother to unravel. We please God more by our unquestioning confidence than by imploring Him for help. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may put all my difficulties in God's hands and leave them there. I pray that I may fully trust God to take care of them.”
