“Why am I still so distracted by all of the flash and shiny curvy things in the world?”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“I pray to focus on what will truly bring me peace. Help me to be patient to receive Your gifts; not distracted by the glamour and flash of shiny and new things. All quality things come to me at the right time by the hand of a gracious God.”

Leave No One Behind: Daily Meditations

“Today I am a member of a group with a lot of newcomers. I see myself in all of them. Some share. Some don't. Some of them sit there with no light in their eyes. What do I do? I approach them, welcome them, introduce myself, and say "I love you." That's something I would never have done before. Never. Imagine how different the world would be if a world full of people did that too. Today I will welcome a newcomer as I was welcomed in the community of recovery - with uninhibited love.”

Richard Rohr Daily Meditations

Richard Rohr

“We have many ideas about love. The most profound thought we have about love is the idea that love exists between two people who are utterly compatible, usually young and pretty, and who for some odd reason have a chemical attraction toward each other—none of which can last. Most people find out during the course of their lifetime that this is a myth, that it doesn’t work that way. They think it’s their own fault or the other person’s fault or the fault of both, and so they try a new relationship. In reality, love is a quality of our heart. The heart has no other function. As we seek this with simplicity, we experience true love & joy with quiet faith and confidence.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day “The world doesn't need super men or women, but supernatural people. People who will turn the self out of their lives and let the Divine Power work through them. Let inspiration take the place of aspiration. Seek to grow spiritually, rather than to acquire fame and riches. Our chief ambition should be to be used by God. The Divine Force is sufficient for all the spiritual work in the world. God only needs the instruments for His use. His instruments can remake the world. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may be an instrument of the Divine Power. I pray that I may do my share in remaking the world.”
