A Wave

January 10, 2025

“The only person to compare yourself to is the one who came into the first meeting.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

There is a Solution, p. 25

Alcoholics Anonymous

The great fact is just this, and nothing less: That we have had deep and effective spiritual experiences* which have revolutionized our whole attitude toward life, toward our fellows and toward God’s universe. The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainty that our Creator has entered into our hearts and lives in a way which is indeed miraculous. He has commenced to accomplish those things for us which we could never do by ourselves. *Fully explained—Appendix II

A Vision For You, p. 153

Alcoholics Anonymous

The age of miracles is still with us. Our own recovery proves that!

3

Working With Others, p. 100

Alcoholics Anonymous

If you persist, remarkable things will happen. When we look back, we realize that the things which came to us when we put ourselves in God’s hands were better than anything we could have planned. Follow the dictates of a Higher Power and you will presently live in a new and wonderful world, no matter what your present circumstances!

Adapted from Participating Today

Richard Rohr

Our own process of healing, with all its pain and difficulty, helps us participate humbly, gently, and sensitively in the ongoing healing of others. As we continue doing the inner work of engaged contemplation, we share our experience of healing our own inner being. We have not finished on this journey. Recovery is a lifelong process of healing and growth. Today, God, help me show up to be in partnership with others to create a circle of peace—one that welcomes others in no matter what happens.

Thought for the Day

Hazelden

When we look back, we see that we very stubborn. We didn't like to take advice; we resented being told what to do. To us, humility looked like weakness. But as time went on, we found out that humility gave us the power we needed to overcome drinking. Have I learned that there is power in humility? Meditation For The Day I will come to God in faith and He will give me a new way of life. This new way of life will alter my whole existence, the words I speak, the influence I have. They will spring from the life within me. I see how important is the work of a person who has this new way of life. The words and the example of such a person can have a whole influence for good in the world. Prayer For The Day I pray that I may learn the principles of the good life. I pray that I may meditate upon them and work at them, because they are eternal.
