Years ago, in sobriety, I was lost and depressed. Full of doubts and fear, I went to a close friend, asking what to do. I was going to meetings, had a service commitment, and working with others. My work was going good, my kids were good, yet I did not have the happy, joyous & free promises in my heart. He simply said, “Know you’re loved.”
I responded that I did not know that; I did not feel that way. So he asked me to write down why not!?
Writing down why I did not know, why I did not feel that I was loved opened a door to baggage & false beliefs, that,
today seems so distant. Opening that door, writing down the causes and conditions, and sharing them with another brought me into a New world. Knowing that I am Loved is the drug I was looking for all along; and passing the Love on is a most precious gift!
Thank you God for my recovery fellowship, and thanks to the fellowship for a God I'm still learning to understand.
