A Wave

January 11, 2025

“The feeling of being a part of, no better, no worse, no different, really hit me.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Dear Friend, Letters for your Spiritual Journey, "Balance" p. 49

Sandy Beach

In spite of your schedule, take the time for quiet. Know that a God-calmness is within. Thank God for your life and all its blessings. Be aware that the center of your being is filled with the Divine Spirit and the calmness within. Ask for blessings for everyone you meet today; as you move through your day, rely on the stability of your spiritual center. When events start to tip the balance, return your thoughts to God. Claim the peace that is yours. Accept your role as that of God's agent; simply do your best and leave the results in the hands of your Higher Power. Begin to recognize His greatness within you. It's there.

Adapted from A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“The fences have been shown to you not to imprison you; you have already been imprisoned. Now it is time to dismantle them and be free. God, show me where I have protected myself from Your love, that I may step forward and live in Your Light.”

3

SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE, p. 567

Alcoholics Anonymous

“Most of our experiences are what the psychologist William James calls the "educational variety" because they develop slowly over a period of time….. What often takes place in a few months could seldom have been accomplished by years of self-discipline. With few exceptions our members find that they have tapped an unsuspected inner resource which they presently identify with their own conception of a Power greater than themselves.”

Adapted from Twenty Four Hours A Day

Hazelden

“I will pray only for strength and that God's will be done. I will use God's unlimited store of strength for my needs. I will seek God's will for me. I will strive for consciousness of God's presence, for He is the light of the world. I have become a pilgrim, who needs only marching orders and strength and guidance for this day. I pray that I may seek God's guidance day by day. I pray that I may strive to abide in God's presence.”
