Ride the WavesReflections by Steve L.

A Wave

December 15, 2024

“Waking up this morning, I’m so thankful for a beautiful life, one that I didn’t plan.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Contemplative Practice

Richard Rohr

“An unfolding inner dynamism is not only certain, but also moving in a positive direction. The contemplative mind is an evolutionary mind. It allows the future to reveal itself, without present circumstances totally predicting it. We need some degree of predictability, but in faith, we can live without certainty.\n\nLiving in that tension, that in-between, could be called evolutionary thinking. We can trust there’s a deeper river flowing. When conflicts happen on the upper river, I can turn my thoughts to trust the deeper river.”

Meditations from A Simple Path

Mother Teresa

"The fruit of silence is\n\nPRAYER.\n\nThe fruit of prayer is\n\nFAITH.\n\nThe fruit of faith is\n\nLOVE.\n\nThe fruit of love is\n\nSERVICE.\n\nThe fruit of service is\n\nPEACE."

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

Meditation for the Day\n\n"Today can be lived in the consciousness of God's contact, upholding you in all good thoughts, words, and deeds. If sometimes there seems to be a shadow on your life and you feel out of sorts, remember that this is not the withdrawal of God's presence, but only your own temporary unwillingness to realize it. The quiet gray days are the days for doing what you must do, but know that the consciousness of God's nearness will return and be with you again, when the gray days are past.\n\nPrayer for the Day\n\nI pray that I may face the dull days with courage. I pray that I may have faith that the bright days will return."
