Maybe retirement is just the next phase to “re-try” life? I also heard the phrase “practice sobriety.” You told me to let go; I responded with “of what?!” You laughed and said, “try working the 12 Steps and you’ll find out!” I did and continue to move forward in Faith. Yesterday started with meditation on the front deck. The “Porch Therapy” sign behind 2 chairs is where my sponsor and I and other members of the program have sat and talked about our journey in sobriety. It’s a wonderful spot, bringing great memories and peace.
Meeting up with David at Monica’s Café, Tawnie, our server, was a bright light as always. Laughter, love, great breakfast, and amazing value off the Children's Menu, how can you beat it? (we're all kids, right?)
After solving the problems in the world, we left, somewhat convinced all is well!
I drove over to Pinetop Oasis to meet Greg. He walked in a few minutes later, a 70-year-old with 6 months clean, firmly convinced there’s a better way to live life, without alcohol. How? He’s discovered an Inner Light & wants to grow. We sat together for a couple of hours sharing about our journeys sober. He said that he got a message to “let go of everything!” Coincidence?
At Cyclelogical Coffee, I sat on the sofa to work on Ride the Waves. Interrupted a few times by friends walking in, we shared and laughed about life. The blessings that I thought only walked into the Bar now walk into coffee shops! Hallelujah!
We headed to Mr. Zekes to meet our friends Paul & Linda for dinner. Friends for 40 years, we laughed about our craziest adventures, gifts of raising kids and good times with grandkids – from neon lights, glitter and unmentionables in Vegas to a peaceful and fun dinner in Pinetop. Miracles!
Don’t stop believin’ - a wonderful journey in sobriety can continue each day with blessings, service and Love.
