What a character, larger than life. That’s what attracted me to the exciting drinking and using life. I was a star! I could forget myself, and be one of those characters, until, trapped in the Motel 6’s in New Mexico, I couldn’t find my way out. You showed me the description of the “actors’ scenario” on Page 60 in the Big Book. That was me; then you showed me the design for living in There Is A Solution that worked for you. I read it over and over and still do today. It’s far better than my design!
Yesterday at Bob’s apt. Judy and Fernando came over to help finish cleaning out all of his personal belongings. The waves of emotions keep coming, but as Bill Wilson wrote and promised on p. 16, “…underneath (the waves) there is deadly earnestness. Faith has to work twenty-four hours a day in and through us, or we perish. Most of us feel we need look no further for Utopia. We have it with us right here and now.”
Later, at dinner at Gails with Aaron, we wrestled with all the emotions again, from anger to sadness to gratitude and back again. The company, salmon sliders & corn on the cob and NBA playoff game were great, but once again, underneath, Bill’s promise came true.
Thanks for the album Songs in the Key of Life that continues to knock me off my feet!
