A Wave

May 12, 2026

“A new faith, a new design for living, and a new community have carried me to a wonderful life: family, relationships, careers, purpose and Love.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Easy Does It: A Book of Daily 12 Step Meditations

Anonymous

When we decided to let God be God, we were able to participate in the plan. Admitting that my life in the past failed, the decision to let God's will become mine continues to make sense. When I "Let go and let God," I become a player on a winning team.

Taking Refuge in the Three Gems

Thich Nhat Hanh

Grounded in the wisdom of the Buddha and direct experience seeking the most helpful conditions for peace and compassion to arise. The “Three Gems” are a grounding and intention-setting ritual, an affirmation of our confidence in the path, and a teaching on what to rely on for support in a challenging world. The combination of the "Buddha nature" or innate resource in each of us; the Dharma, or Dhamma (Pāli), i.e., the Buddhist tradition of seeing & accepting all things the way they are; and the Saṅgha, referring to the Buddhist community of all beings we belong to, form a strong refuge and ritual of renewing our faith.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

Turn out all thoughts of doubt and fear and resentment. Never tolerate them if you can help it. Bar the windows and doors of your mind against them, as you would bar your home against a thief who would steal in to take away your treasures. What greater treasures can you have than faith and courage and love? All these are stolen from you by doubt and fear and resentment. Face each day with peace and hope. They are results of true faith in God. Faith gives you a feeling of protection and safety that you can get in no other way. I pray that I may feel protected and safe, but not only when I am in the harbor. I pray that I may have protection and safety even in the midst of the storms of life.
