A Wave

“Before recovery, I only focused on taking your inventory; your flaws were so glaring!”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Around the Year with Emmet Fox

Emmet Fox

Each of us has a divine Self that is spiritual & perfect but that is never seen on this plane. That is the true man and is what we Christians sometimes call ‘the Christ within.’ If somebody displeases you, silently salute the Christ in him. The more often you salute the Christ in others, the sooner you will find Him in yourself.

That of God Within

Western Friend

In the Old Testament, Jacob lies down to sleep and dreams he hears God say, ‘hinei anochi imach,’ (take notice, I am with you). This provides insight into ‘that of God within’ – an often unsuspected inner resource to do what’s right, to reach out for reconciliation, to overcome adversity, to help comfort ourselves & others. Later, Joseph is described as ‘ish asher ruach Elohim bo’ - a being in whom is the spirit of God. Yes, there is a Divine resource within each one of us! Today, I ask God to show me The Divine Light in others and also within myself.

Meditation for the Day

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

I will strive for friendliness and helpfulness that will affect all who come near me; to see something to love in them, and to help them if they ask for help. I must send no one away without a word of cheer, a feeling that I really care about them. God may have put the impulse in some despairing one's mind to come to me. I must not fail God by repulsing that person. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may warmly welcome all who come to me for help, to honor the Godliness within. I pray that I may make them feel that I really care.
