“The power of one on one in the fellowship is still magical.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Woman's Spirit: More Meditations for Women

Karen Casey

“We have been given a direction that's right for us. Unfortunately, we often miss the road signs because we are still looking over our shoulder at what we passed yesterday. Letting go of the noise in our minds changes our lives. Quietly focusing on our lives, one moment at a time, can assure us of fulfilling our true destiny. Today, I open my heart and mind to LOVE, so that I may feel and acknowledge what’s in the here and now.”

Reading

Eknath Easwaran

“More and more evidence indicates that lack of love not only leads to loneliness, despair, and resentment, but also contributes to the deterioration of physical health. Resentment, hostility, alienation, and selfishness are deficiency diseases. You can have all the essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals known and unknown but if you cannot love, you are not likely to remain in good health.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

“In that alcoholic world, one drink always led to another. I couldn’t stop until I was comfortably numb or paralyzed! And the next morning it begins all over again. Eventually, I landed in an ER, hospital or jail. I lost my job or got reprimanded. My home life was a mess. I was on a merry-go-round; a squirrel cage and couldn’t get out. Am I convinced that the alcoholic world is not a pleasant place for me to live in? I pray that I may be an example to others of a better way of living. I pray that I may carry on despite the hindrances.”
