When I woke up yesterday, Gail said, “Hey Steve, let’s go up to the Soul Café for breakfast. I have a coupon; it’s where my friends took me for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I think you’ll really like it.” It’s way the hell up in N. Scottsdale, can’t we go anywhere closer I said to myself. You told me to go with the flow, so I replied,” Yes, dear, it sounds like fun!”
After a 45-minute drive in heavy traffic, we walked into a terrific place, buzzing with excitement. The service & food was off the chart, and we had an amazing time. The rest of the day was spent at the Franciscan Renewal Center to meet some guys from the NY Men’s Gratitude Retreat. Gail had a great time talking with a guy named Tortellini, while I caught up with an ex-junkie who saw the light and now carries the message of hope. With laughter & gratitude, we drove over to Lea’ D.'s house for her 93rd Birthday party. We got to meet more of her family, talk with friends, and plan for her 50 AA birthday! Wow, what fellowship and love.
Leaving to meet my son Aaron for dinner at Keegans, we talked about how the day had unfolded so perfectly. None of it was my idea or plan! Aaron had so much to say about his work and life; everything was amazing, especially the memories of sitting with Mom, Dad and family having Friday night dinner. Maybe admission being deaf, dumb and blind is the key to opening the door to intuition?
Early on you told me that the only thing I need to know about God is that there is One and I’m not it.
Many years later, that idea still applies today! Thank you.
