“Fear, control, and expectations are emotions that have driven my life to extremes.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

Many of us have mastered drama, emergency, lack, worry, and sabotaged relationships. We can take a situation with great potential and find a way to undermine it—that is truly mastery! Now, we must learn to harness the force of intelligent love; to step forward with the innate wisdom and love we were given to make our lives and the world a better place to live. Today, help me set aside all my worries, fears and drama; that I may use my gifts to make my life and the world a happier and better place.

Step Seven, Twelve Steps & Twelve Traditions

Humility, as a word and as an ideal, has a very bad time in our world. Much of the everyday talk we hear, and a great deal of what we read, highlights man's pride in his own achievements. The attainment of greater humility is the foundation principle of each of our Twelve Steps. Nearly all of us have found that unless we develop much more of this precious quality than may be required just for sobriety, we still haven’t much chance of becoming truly happy. Without it, we cannot live to much purpose, or, in adversity, be able to summon the faith that can meet any emergency.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

By helping to bring about a true fellowship of human beings, I am working for God. I am also working with God because this is the way God works, and He is with me when I am doing such work. I cannot do good work, however, without God's help. In the final analysis, it is through the grace of God that any real change in human personality takes place. I must rely on God's power, and anything I accomplish is through His help. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may work for God and with God. I pray that I may be used to change human personalities through God's help.
