A Wave

“Getting into bed after the drive back, we reflected on a day full of magic.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Called by God

Richard Rohr

Abraham and Sarah’s trust in God’s call is a model for our new walk in faith: All they have is a promise that God will be with them and show them a better way. To trust that while we plot ways to use God to get blessings for ourselves, God stays focused on the big picture of blessing the world—which includes blessing us in the process. From now on, they will make a new road by walking. Like our walk in recovery, this story tells us something about true faith: stepping off the map of what’s known, making a new road by walking into the unknown. It’s responding to God’s call to adventure; with faith, we step out on a quest for goodness, trusting that the status quo isn’t as good as it gets. Today, I walk forward in faith, believing the promise that a better life is possible.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

Meditation for the Day "I believe that God had already seen my heart's needs before I cried to Him, before I was conscious of those needs myself. I believe that God was already preparing the answer. God does not have to be petitioned with sighs and tears and much speaking before He reluctantly loses the desired help. He has already anticipated my every want and need. I will try to see this as His plans unfold in my life. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may understand my real wants and needs. I pray that my understanding of those needs and wants may help to bring the answer to them."
