A Wave

December 19, 2025

“Struggling to get Gail’s yard all done, I started to get upset. I had double booked parties for Sunday, and had to cancel the one with my old college roomate. Why do I take so much on? I had been on the phone a long time with many guys; I got caught up in paperwork, on year-end accounting. And, I didn’t have time to pick up the 'Vette from yet another rehab; now, finally, the battery gauge works to see if it's charging ok. But am I???”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Days of Healing, Days of Joy: Daily Meditations

Hazelden Foundation

“A refusal to forgive is called a resentment; the victim of resentment is always the one who carries it. To hang on to a resentment is to harbor a thief in the heart. It pilfers our energy to celebrate life - to face others as messengers of grace, rather than ambassadors of doom. Looking to punish others, we only victimize ourselves. Today, I will remember that forgiveness is a giver and that resentment is a taker. I let go and forgive old hurts; to see forgiveness as freedom, a true gift of the Spirit.”

Alcoholics Anonymous - Chapter 6: Into Action

Alcoholics Anonymous

“Much has already been said about receiving strength, inspiration, and direction from Him who has all knowledge and power. If we have carefully followed directions, we have begun to sense the flow of His Spirit into us. To some extent we have become God-conscious. We have begun to develop this vital sixth sense. But we must go further and that means more action.” INTO ACTION, p. 85

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

Meditation for the Day “We alone can have either evil intentions - resentments, hate and revenge - or good intentions - love and good will, to make something ugly or something beautiful out of the clay of our lives. What will I focus my time and attention on? Prayer for the Day Today, I pray that I may make something good out of my life. I pray that I may be a good artisan of the materials, which I have been given to use.”
