“But the sharing of stories, filled with hope, love and understanding were the best items, not even listed on the menu!”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Acceptance

Dr. Paul O.

For years, I was sure the worst thing that could happen to a nice guy like me would be that I would turn out to be an alcoholic. Today, I find it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. This proves I don’t know what’s good for me. And if I don’t know what’s good for me, then I don’t know what's good or bad foryou or for anyone else. So I’m better off if I don’t give advice, don’t figure I know what’s best, and just accept life on life’s terms, as It is today— especially my own life, as It actually is.

Forget your figuring. Forget yourself. Listen to your Friend. When you become totally obedient to that one, you’ll be free.

Meditation for the Day

Hazelden Foundation

Charity means to care enough about other people to really want to do something for them. A smile, a word of encouragement, a word of love, goes winged on its way, simple though it may seem, while the mighty words of an the orator fell on deaf ears. Use up the odd moments of your day in trying to do some little thing to cheer up another person, rather than thinking too much about yourself. I pray that I may overcome my self-centeredness; that my day may be brightened by some little act of charity, and that I may be a reflection of Divine Light. I pray that some of its rays may shine in my life.
