“What a difference recovery makes.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Read — the readings that opened the day

1

Alcoholics Anonymous

Bill W.

In our book it tells us to remember that we’ve entered the world of the Spirit. Bill stated in his story that in the midst of his loneliness, self-pity & despair, ’ Quicksand stretched around me in all directions. I had met my match. I had been overwhelmed.’

2

Immortal Diamond

Richard Rohr

Perhaps God and consciousness and Being are the same thing. This ever-flowing abundance that we call God clearly loves and revels in endless manifestation, fecundity, and diversity. The Formless One is forever seeking new and fantastic forms. There is surely no indication of any divine interest in blandness, uniformity, exclusion, mindless repetition, or sameness.

3

A Year with Rumi

Coleman Barks

Don’t go anywhere without Me. Let nothing happen in the sky apart from Me, or on the ground, in this world, or that world, without By Being in its happening.

Meditation for the Day / Prayer for the Day

Hazelden

Try to be thankful for whatever vision you have. Try to perform, in the little things, faithful service to God & others. Do your small part every day in a spirit of service to God. In your daily life try to keep faith with God. Every day brings a new opportunity to be of some use. Even when you are tempted to rest or let things go or to evade the issue, make it a habit to meet the issue squarely as a challenge and not to hold back. I pray that I may perform each task faithfully. I pray that I may meet each issue of life squarely and not hold back.
