A Wave

August 30, 2025

“When I remember the gifts of Grace, Love and Forgiveness I’ve been given, I can step aside and ask God to give me the grace to be loving, compassionate and understanding.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Woman's Spirit: More Meditations

Karen Casey

“Seeing our struggles as someone else’s fault is a good indication that we need an attitude adjustment. "Keep It Simple” is one of the slogans that we can apply to all our relationships. Asking ourselves what we can do to help someone else defines our purpose in life quite clearly. Each moment, we can pause and ask, ‘show me what to do next.’ Thanking God for our lives and for our sobriety, we reflect back on our own personal struggles. We have received The gift of Grace, of Love & Forgiveness. When someone else is causing me a problem, I can address my own attitude. Today, I remind myself of my true purpose: to be of maximum service to God and the people around me.”

Interfaith Friendships and Solidarity

Richard Rohr

“Inhabiting the ethic of active listening and practicing self-emptying, we can bring mindfulness and intentionality into our lives. With this foundation, we can be fully present with others, engaging genuine curiosity with a beginner’s mind. Remember that this way of being in the world often leads to a reconfiguring of self. Being open to revelation and conversion requires humility—a sense of deep knowing that we are God’s, and that God’s work is ongoing, in us and in others.”

Twenty Four Hours a Day

Hazelden

Meditation for the Day One secret of abundant living is the art of giving. The paradox of life is that the more you give, the more you have. If you lose your life in the service of others, you will save it. You can give abundantly and so live abundantly. You are rich in one respect - you have a Spirit that is inexhaustible. Let no mean or selfish thought keep you from sharing this Spirit. Of love, of help, of understanding, and of sympathy, give and keep giving. Give your personal ease and comfort, your time, your money, and most of all, yourself. And you will be living abundantly. Prayer For The Day I pray that I may live to give. I pray that I may learn this secret of abundant living.
