A Wave

August 5, 2025

“Most people don’t make it out of their own BS - short for Belief System.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Grounded in Reality

Richard Rohr

“We must approach our recovery with humility & patience, with our own agenda out of the way, and allow the Spirit to stir a deeper meaning for us. We are learning what is real and what is unreal; what is temporary and what will last. The process requires humility and honesty much more than education.”

A Day at a Time: Daily Reflections for Recovering People

Hazelden Foundation

Reflection for the Day “Many of us tend to shadow our own happiness by mistaken thinking. Let us learn to stand aside, so The Light can shine on us; to see ourselves and our circumstances with true clarity. Today I Pray May I not get in my own way, obscure my clarity of thought, stumble over my feet, block the doorway to my own recovery. If all I can see is my shadow, I'm in my own light. Today, when I feel stuck, help me ask my Higher Power and my circle of friends to show me a new way.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

Meditation for the Day We do not have to beg God to come to us. He is always with us in Spirit. God's love and His desire is to be in our lives; our need is God's opportunity. Whenever we feel inadequate to any situation, we can step aside and say to ourselves, God, I know that You are with me; that You will help me to think, say and do the next right thing. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may never feel inadequate to any situation. I pray that I may be buoyed up by the feeling that God is with me.”
