A Wave

August 3, 2025

“The program is not working; it's not delivering the promises of a happy, joyous & free life.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Today’s Gift

Hazelden Foundation

“The people closest to us forced us to see our inadequacies, our inability to love. Most of us resented them; we were empty and scared, so we blamed our problems on those around us. But in recovery, things change. First, we get hope; then we get strength and experience to share with others. We learn that in order to keep what we've been given, we must give it away. Do I share my sobriety with others? God, help me be ever aware of You and Your hand in my life; the Source of all the good things, and to show me each day how to share them with others.”

Meditation for the Day / Prayer for the Day

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

“Each moment of your day, which you devote to this new way of life is a gift to God. The gift of the moments. Even when your desire to serve God is sincere, it is not an easy thing to give Him many of these moments: the daily things you had planned to do, given up gladly so that you can perform a good service or say a kind word. If you can see God's purpose in many situations, it will be easier to give Him many moments of your day. Every situation has two interpretations - your own and God's. Try to handle each situation in the way you believe God would have it handled. I pray that I may make my day count somewhat for God. I pray that I may not spend it all selfishly.”
