“If only.” Soon after I stopped drinking and using drugs. I couldn’t shut off that message. I called my friend Stan Grant, and he invited me to come over. When he opened his door, he put his arm around me and said, **“Come in, sit down and take a load off.”
How did he know I was so upside down? Taking a seat opening one of his meditation books, he started sharing The Gift of letting go.
To this day, I’ll never forget Stan, in his favorite chair, his legs up on the ottoman, without a care in the world. His wife was ill; he didn’t make much money; yet he was at peace with himself and with the world.
He said, “Steve, learning to relax is simple. Just sit, get quiet for a minute, and let go. Nothing else matters. All is well.”
Today, when the storms of life hit, I spend extra time in The Quiet. Stan, I thank you for the Gift.
I not only get good vibes, but the ability to share the message of hope & love. All is well. **It’s a beautiful day!
