A Wave

July 21, 2025

“Today, we are waking up, not coming to.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

My Jewish Learning

All prayer is preparation to ask God to meet our needs with a combination of humility and spiritual audacity. In the very first of our requests, we ask for the wisdom to be connected with God in the day ahead. *In Judaism, The Amidah* serves as a focal point for personal and communal prayer, with themes of praise, petition for various needs and gratitude to God. We ask for help to problem-solve, and to walk through life’s complexities. Yet, our rational minds are in a constant tug-of-war with our irrational desires. We pray that wisdom wins the day.

Glad Day: Daily Meditations

Joan Larkin

In recovery our original self, that has been silenced or denied, is being restored to a sense of wholeness. Recovery from addiction offers us a joyous connection with our true spirit, to have purpose, and connection with others. Today, in the depths of my soul, help me continue to uncover and shed my fears, thoughts & behaviors that block me from who You created; to celebrate the whole person I really am!

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day "Faith can move mountains." That expression means that faith can change any situation in the field of personal relationships. If you trust Him, God shows you the way to "move mountains." If you are humble enough to know that you can do little by yourself to change a situation, if you have enough faith to ask God to give you the power you need, and if you are grateful enough for the grace He gives you, you can "move mountains." Situations will be changed for the better by your presence. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may have enough faith to make me really effective. I pray that I may learn to depend less on myself and more on God.
