Early on I was told it’s a "we" program. There’s no "I" in recovery! WOW.
Sitting by myself those last 6 months in dive motels, drinking from the Popov bottle, (the Grey Goose or Ciroc in a crystal glass period long gone) I kept spiraling downward. What happened to that great feeling of release I had relied on for so long?
Even years in recovery, reading spiritual material, trying to get centered, Something Big happens at a meeting, a coffee shop, in a retreat, or on the golf course with others in recovery. With a fellowship, a door opens; not only to accept new freedom, but to let out the things in my head that block the True Spirit from entering my heart.
Thank You, God, for leading me out of darkness, for the Gift of Desperation to make a phone call, the willingness to go to a meeting, and for connections to expand my Spirit.
God really does open the door when I simply pick up the keys & ask for help to unlock the door!
