A Wave

“Thank You, God, for transporting me to a true oasis; to show me what is truly hip!”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Have I quit playing God?

Hazelden Foundation

“Saying an unkind word to another may not inflict lifelong hurt; yet it separates us from spiritual fellowship. When we are angry and out of harmony we are vulnerable to taking that first fix, drink, or pill. It will help everyone, including ourselves, to be kind to others; especially to those who don't seem to deserve it! God, help me to show kindness & love to all, even when it is difficult, as You have shown kindness & love to me.” Excerpt from Day by Day: Daily Meditations for Recovering Addicts, ©1974, 1998 by Hazelden Foundation. Acceptance Was the Answer

Dr. Paul

“When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation—some fact of my life—unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. ………I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes.” Dr. Paul “Acceptance Was the Answer”, p. 417 (3rd edition, page 449)

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“The only gifts we truly have to offer one another are the gifts of Spirit. Physical objects are but cups we fill with love. A gift, no matter how expensive, is not a gift unless it is given with sincerity & kindness. Even if our physical means are meager, if we imbue a gift with intention, it will bless the receiver in the deepest way. Today, God, let my words & actions be filled with only with love; to magnify Your divine presence. As I give from my heart, I am filled with purpose & gratitude.” Adapted from A Deep Breath of Life, Alan Cohen

Meditation for the Day

Hazelden Foundation

“God's spirit is all about you all day long. You have no thoughts, no plans, no impulses and no emotions that He does not know about. You can hide nothing from Him. Do not make your conduct conform only to that of the world and do not depend on the approval or disapproval of others. God sees in secret, but He rewards openly. If you are in harmony with the Divine Spirit, doing your best to live the way you believe God wants you to live, you will be at peace.” Prayer for the Day I pray that I may always feel God's presence. I pray that I may realize this Presence constantly all through the day.” From Twenty-Four Hours a Day, © 1975 by Hazelden Foundation. All rights reserved.
