A Wave

January 3, 2025

“This morning I woke up in a panic.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Stepping Stones Meditations

The Serenity Prayer speaks of the "wisdom to know the difference." This power to discern between what we must accept and what we can change creates a deep sense of peace. It brings calm to our intimate partnership, success to our recovery from addiction and codependency, and greater effectiveness in our work life. Today, I pray for the wisdom to know the difference between what I must accept and what I can change.

Twenty Four Hours a Day

Step Twelve is, “Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.” Note that the basis of our effectiveness in carrying the message to others is the reality of our own spiritual awakening. If we have not changed, we cannot be used to change others. To keep this program, we must pass it on to others. We cannot hoard it for ourselves. We may lose it unless we give it away. It cannot flow into us and stop; it must continue to flow into us as it flows out to others. Am I always ready to give away what I have learned in A.A.?”

You can’t carry the message before you receive it nor can you give it if you don’t possess it.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day I will be renewed. I will be remade. In this, I need God's help. His spirit shall flow through me and, in flowing through me, it shall sweep away all the bitter past. I will take heart. The way will open for me. Each day will unfold something good, as long as I am trying to live the way I believe God wants me to live. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may be taught, just as a child would be taught. I pray that I may never question God's plans, but accept them gladly.
