“Thank you God for opening my heart, to not be afraid to love and share all the joys in life.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

We Agnostics, p. 48

Alcoholics Anonymous

“As soon as we admitted the possible existence of a Creative Intelligence, a Spirit of the Universe underlying the totality of things, we began to be possessed of a new sense of power and direction, provided we took other simple steps. We found that God does not make too hard terms with those who seek Him. To us, the Realm of Spirit is broad, roomy, all inclusive; never exclusive or forbidding to those who earnestly seek. It is open, we believe, to all men.”

Is sincere seeking perhaps the real meaning of walking in faith? “God comes into the world in always-surprising ways, and the sincere seeker will always find evidence. Walking in faith means to live your life based on trust and belief in a higher power, primarily referring to God in a religious context. Today, even when faced with uncertainty or challenges, help me choose to act on my faith rather than solely on what I can see or understand with my own eyes.”

Excerpt From What the Mystics Know

Richard Rohr

“A small Jewish boy went to his rabbi and said he didn’t know how to love God. “How can I love God when I’ve never seen him?” asked the boy. The rabbi answered, “try to love the sky and the mountains, the beauty of all creation. Try to be present to it in its many forms. Let it speak to you and let it come into you.” The boy sensed the rabbi wanted to say more, so he nodded as if he understood. “Then,” the rabbi said, “try to love a woman. Try to be faithful to a woman and sacrifice yourself for her. After you have loved a flower, your little dog, the mountain, the sky, and a woman, then you’ll be ready to love God.”

Hawaiian Lullaby, from Book of Golden Hawaiian Songs

Siluco Music

“Where I live, there are rainbows With life in the laughter of morning and starry nights Where I live, there are rainbows And flowers full of colors and birds filled with song I can smile when it’s raining And touch the warmth of the sun I hear children laughing in this place that I love Where I live, there are rainbows With life and the laughter of morning and starry nights”

Meditation for the Day “It is in the union of a soul with God that strength, new life, and spiritual power come. Bread sustains the body but we cannot live by bread alone. To try to do the will of God is the meat and support of true living. We feed on that spiritual food. Soul starvation comes from failing to do so. The world talks about bodies that are undernourished. What of the souls that are undernourished? Our true strength and peace come from partaking of spiritual food.” Prayer for the Day I pray that I may not try to live by bread alone. I pray that my spirit may live by trying to do the will of God, as I understand it.
