A Wave

July 11, 2024

“I must take a step into the unknown, making a deeper commitment to Step 3.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

“Today, we can invest in a better world by placing our attention on what works, rather than what doesn't. Do not start or end your day by listening to newscasts. Celebrate all the good you hear about, and pray that we learn from our pain and suffering, rather than dwell on it. Make the news of the day better by shining the light of your consciousness on the good, the beautiful, and the true. God, help me to be a beacon of Your love. Give me the strength to bless the good and heal the sorrow, to change the world by focusing on the Light.”

Today's Gift

“In recovery, we are shown how to rid ourselves of hatred, envy, resentments, and dislikes. We are told, "Start forgiveness by praying for those you think have harmed you." This small act of prayer removes powerful negative emotions and replaces them with the wonder of serenity. Step Seven is an affirmation of how our Higher Power has accepted, loved and forgiven us; who are we to hold a grudge? Today, since I’m not God, I shall be a little more grateful; a little kinder and blinder to the faults of myself and those around me.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day “God will protect you from the forces of evil, if you will rely on Him. You can face all things through the power of God, which strengthens you. Once God has set on you His stamp and seal of ownership, all His strength will serve and protect you. Remember that you are a child of the Father. Realize that the Father's help is always ready and available to all His children, so that they can face anything. God will do all that is necessary for your spiritual well-being, if you will let Him live His way. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may rely on God as I go through this day. I pray that I may feel deeply secure, no matter what happens to me.”
