A Wave

“In sobriety, it’s easy to get stuck in the quicksands of fear, doubt, self-pity, grandiosity, pride & ego that can plague us”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Discovering God Within

Richard Rohr

“That God is both utterly beyond us and yet totally within us at the same time is the exquisite balance that a Spiritual Awakening brings. We might call the true self our soul, and the false self our ego, i.e., the small and separate self. Healthy inner authority of the true self can be balanced with the outer authority in Scripture and Tradition. Our experience can be validated by others’ experience. That’s what assures us that we are grounded in reality, not fantasy.”

Around the Year with Emmet Fox

Emmet Fox

“God is ready the moment you are. There is nothing to wait for except the changing of your own consciousness. The only time to be harmonious and satisfied is right here, right now. Do not keep yourself out of the Kingdom of Heaven by inventing postponements; change your consciousness now, for it can all happen in a moment.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day “Keep in mind the goal you are striving for: Do not let little things divert you from the path or be overcome by the small trials and vexations of each day. Try to see the purpose & plan to which all is leading. If, when climbing a mountain, you keep your eyes on each stony or difficult place, how weary is your climb. Yet, if you think of each step as leading to the summit from which a glorious landscape will open out before you, your climb will be endurable & you will achieve your goal. Prayer for the Day Today, I pray that I may realize that life without a goal is futile. I pray that I may find the good life worth striving for.”
