Ride the WavesReflections by Steve L.

A Wave

“My dear friend and 3rd sponsor Stan Grant used to say, “Steve, your mind is overactive; you love to borrow trouble.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

The Daily Reader for Contemplative Living

Thomas Keating

“Have you ever experienced a few moments of interior silence? Why is it such a difficult state to maintain, or return to? Plagued by pain lingering outside a door that seems to be locked from the inside, we struggle. Where’s the key? Within interior silence, doors are unlocked. A repeated experience of interior silence is a deep need we all have; capacity for the transcendent is precisely what distinguishes us most from the rest of creation. It is what makes us most human.”

The Sermon on the Mount

Emmet Fox

“The great essential for success in prayer—for obtaining that sense of the Presence of God, which is the secret of healing oneself and others too is that we first attain some degree of true peace of mind. This true, interior soul-peace was known to the mystics as serenity. They never tired of telling us that serenity is the grand passport to the Presence of God.”

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day “Strive for a union between your purposes in life and the purposes of the Divine Principle directing the universe. No bond of union on earth compares with the union between a human soul and God. Priceless beyond all earth's rewards is that union. In merging your heart and mind with the heart and mind of the Higher Power, a oneness of purpose results. Only those who experience it can even dimly realize. That oneness of purpose puts you in harmony with God and with all others who are trying to do His will. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may become attuned to the will of God. I pray that I may be in harmony with the music of the spheres.”
