How to be inspired? Quiet times for introspection and meaningful activities take us outside of ourselves; our emotional and spiritual wellbeing is enhanced. As we strive for moderation in our activities & simplicity in self-analysis, an Inner Wisdom guides us. The directions to move forward emerges in the quiet places of our mind. We are no longer at the center of a problem. As we discover gifts of inspiration, we turn to other people with a better understanding to acknowledge, praise and love them. Today, I give thanks for time for both quiet meditation and involvement with others.

"Praise the Lord." What does praising God mean? It means being grateful for all the wonderful things in the universe and for all the blessings in our lives. We praise God by being grateful and humble. Praise of this kind has more power to vanquish evil than has mere resignation. The truly grateful and humble person, who is always praising God, is not tempted to do wrong. As we continue to let go and praise God, a feeling of security develops within. We come to the conclusion and know that fundamentally all is well! Prayer for the Day Today, God, help me continue to focus and pray to be grateful for all of my blessings.

The feelings of drinking and using gave me such freedom. Freedom from worry, fear, insecurity. A feeling that life was great! Then, after 6 months in total despair, I found you. You promised me that living the 12 Steps and developing a fellowship in recovery would not only be an alternative, but would introduce me to and help me build a relationship with a God of my understanding that would solve ALL my problems. Really?? How????

Yesterday, I received a call from an old friend trying to get back in the program. I connected him with my New York buddy Al C. from the LTAI meeting in Scottsdale. Al explains that his Gift came out of nowhere on a busy highway as he considered jumping in front of a truck. Someone pulled over and asked him if he needed a ride and drove him to a meeting. The guy was the speaker!

Walking in, a crow appeared on the fence outside, and Al has been clean and sober ever since. How does that happen?

After countless calls to companies and people connected with my brother to try and finish getting more paperwork to my cousin in Cincinnati, I hit a bottom. It was all just too much. I walked out to the front deck to chill out.

Sitting on the sofa outside, I called my friend Bobbie to see if she was back from helping her Dad. She was, and 20 minutes later, we met at Pinetop Coffee (instead of the bar) to catch up. We ordered Iced Mochas instead of Vodka! It works; It really does!

Getting back home, I continued with the paperwork and emails. Gail drove up, we had dinner and a movie on the couch. Far better than running off to Vegas to find the juice.
