Most meetings start with “after a moment of silence, let’s start with the serenity prayer.” The importance of silence is to gather our thoughts, or perhaps, to set them aside. This morning, reflecting on life with my Rabbi, we shared about the importance of connection with the One who has all power. We discussed how spirituality and the rituals we practice help to build the bridge between the Spirit and reality of living life.

On my own, I can only get so far; my failure led me to you.

Later at lunch with Richard and Gail, we laughed about some of the adventures we’ve lived through. Along with countless phone calls and messages today regarding my brother’s passing, it’s clear Something is at work; love, kindness, compassion.

Without a bottom, I wouldn’t have cried out to God or reached out to you. Without continued faith and work, I wouldn’t grow and be able to pass on my experience, my success & failures, my hope and love to help others looking for connection. That’s life!

At the very least, Something is continually available to open & expand in our hearts to live life each day. The saying at the end of each meeting, “Keep Coming Back”, proves its progress, not perfection. But translated in Hebrew as L’Chaim – to Life, proves that each day is a day where progress is available. That’s Life!!
