A Wave

“I left with tears of joy in my heart; a few of these guys are truly brothers in recovery.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Let My People Go

Adapted from My Jewish Learning

“At the dawn of Spring, we stop to relate to the story in Exodus. God instructs Moses to tell Pharaoh: “The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you to say, ‘Let My people go, that they may worship Me in the wilderness.’” So, what does it mean to be free, unguarded & unsure in an unknown wilderness? When the Ten Commandments are given, they are the first rules we encounter in the wilderness, the first boundaries within this new freedom. The rabbis explain that the phrase “Let my people go” is an invitation that we may serve God; to serve higher ideals, a better reality of the world, something far beyond ourselves. Today, may I discover the same message in recovery: to serve and escape all bondages of self, to carry the message of freedom & love with a higher purpose.”

Meditation for the Day

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

“Functioning on a material plane alone takes me away from God. I must also try to function on a spiritual plane. Functioning on a spiritual plane as well as on a material plane will make life what it should be. All material activities are valueless in themselves alone. But all activities, seemingly trivial or of seemingly great moments, are all alike when directed by God's guidance. I must try to obey God as I would expect a faithful, willing servant to carry out directions. Prayer of the Day I pray that the flow of God's spirit may come to me through many channels. I pray that I may function on a spiritual plane as well as on a material plane.”
