“Thanks for a ticket to the healing game, rather than having to master the chess game called life.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

One of the Hawaiian spiritual traditions teaches that every child who comes into this world is a “bowl of light.” We are born enlightened; our wisdom has been covered up with the rocks of living life. Now, in recovery, we’re being asked, “what rocks are in our bowl?” Pride, shame, fear and self-doubt are just some of the “rocks” that stand between us and the Light that we truly are. As we slowly learn to let go of these impediments, we release our true essence to really shine. Today, help me uncover, discover and discard anything that stands between me and the expression of the true Light that I am.

Dear Friend, Letters for your Spiritual Journey, “Faith" p. 87

Sandy Beach

The great dilemma of human experience is how to be guided through life by a spiritual compass instead of willing our way through it with our minds. Rather than dwelling on intellectual theories to live, we can surrender to the fact that we are indeed lost in the vastness of life. We can then turn to God with a child-like faith. As we learn to focus our energies on drawing close to God, the spiritual signal can be heard. Today, help me open to the consciousness of God; to realize that I've never been lost, but am lovingly enfolded in the arms of the Divine Navigator.

Thought for the Day / Keep it Simple: Daily Meditations

Hazelden Foundation

We're all part of a fellowship, a caring group. We're one of many. But each one of us will have a special way of working through our readings, friends, meetings, and what we know of how life works. Each of us is a miracle of recovery. We then take our miracle and share it with others, so they can build their own miracle.
